The purpose of the this board
is to hear and decide appeals under Section 203 of
the Uniform Building Code of the International Conference
of Building Officials and related sections, Section
2.303 of the Uniform Fire Code, as adopted by the
City of Oregon City, and ORS 476.115 pertaining to
appeals arising under the Oregon City Fire Code.The
board was created August 3, 1988 by Ordinance No.
88-1015; Amended September 14, 1989 by Ordinance
No. 89-1021; Amended June 5, 1991 by Ordinance No.
91-1014.The board is comprised of five members - Building
Official, Plans Examiner, Building Inspector or similar
from other than Oregon City; Fire Official from other
than Oregon City; Architect; and two members qualified
by experience and training to decide matters before
the Board.The
Fire Chief and Building Official are to act as ex
officio members.Length of term is four years.The
Mayor appoints each member.
