The purpose of the Urban Renewal Budget Committee is to publicly review the proposed budget, receive the budget message, provide opportunity for public input, and approve a fiscal budget as well as a tax rate or amount of tax for all funds that receive property taxes. Established pursuant to ORS 294.336, it is comprised of the Urban Renewal Commission (five commissioners) and the Oregon City Budget Committee (five members), totaling ten members on the Urban Renewal Budget Commission. The citizen members have three-year terms that are staggered and expire on December 31. The Mayor appoints the members.
