General Information

Dear Friend,

The City Commission appreciates your interest in serving your community through participation on a City of Oregon City Board, Commission, or Committee. The City of Oregon City has over twenty Boards and Commissions on which to serve. Membership changes frequently and citizens are encouraged to check the "Vacancy" list for the most current information regarding vacancies. Citizens may submit an application for any committee for consideration at any time, according to the membership bylaws of each commission.

General information on the role of each committee, when and where meetings are held, and staff contact information may be found by selecting a name from the Boards & Commissions page. Meeting times and locations are subject to change. Please check with the staff contact to confirm a particular meeting date or location. With the exception of a few boards and commissions, the Mayor makes the appointments. The City Commission as a whole makes appointments to the Urban Renewal Commission.

With few exceptions, commission members must reside in Oregon City. Certain committees may require specific experience in a technical field or have other criteria. Members are required to attend meetings on a regular basis. Planning Commission and City Commission members are required to file a Statement of Economic Interest upon assuming office and annually.
