Walk the Arch Bridge!
Arch Bridge

The Falls. The Bridge. The Story.
An Event to Remember: January 15th, 2011

The Willamette Falls National Heritage Area Coalition* invites citizens to a January 15, 2011 event that will include the unusual opportunity to walk the length of the historic arch bridge between Oregon City and West Linn on the day it closes for a two-year restoration.

Come join us in celebrating this historic landmark from 2pm-4pm on Saturday, January 15th.

Historic photos of the Arch Bridge construction are available in our Arch Bridge Gallery Page and on this page at OregonLive.com

The event will commemorate the importance of the bridge between communities and the work underway to create a National Heritage Area. Key players in the story of the Falls, including Grand Ronde storytellers and dancers, local artists who draw inspiration from the site, and roving presenters weaving tales of pioneering days, will be highlights of the event.

Attendees can share their stories of the bridge, the falls and the partnerships as the bridge "winters in" and the rebuilding begins.
An advocate of the establishment of the Willamette Falls National Heritage Area, Congressman Kurt Schrader will also be on hand for the occasion, as will numerous other dignitaries from Clackamas County, West Linn, Oregon City, the Grand Ronde Tribe, the Oregon Department of Transportation, Oregon State Parks, and many other partners and organizations.

Story Tellers - Dance - Music - Traditional Foods
Note: The Bridge will be closed! -- Free parking will be available on both sides of the river
