In an effort to offer increased customer service and continue our ongoing commitment to the community, we are offering a new program that can take the hassle out of coordinating inspections on building permits. This program is completely voluntary. A Hold Harmless Agreement would permit our building inspectors to enter your garage only to perform an inspection.

Like other cities across Oregon and the country, Oregon City new construction has dramatically dropped off in the past few years. Below are new construction figures for 1996-2009. Please use these for reference only and contact the City for more information.

Permit fees are calculated according to the type of work involved in your project, whether it's residential or commerical, and depends if the project requires plan review.

As of September 12, 2011, inspections will no longer be performed on Fridays, however, inspectors will now work an hour later Monday through Thursdays to better assist homeowners that work during the day.

Three City departments - Planning, Development Services and Building - will assist you in the building process. Please contact each department individually before you begin work. The Planning Division assures compliance with the zoning code, the Development Services Division provides engineering review, and the Building Division assures that buildings meet applicable building codes.
