Economic Development
Oregon City- Open for Business

In 2010, the City of Oregon City initiated an Economic Development program. Economic Development in Oregon City covers a wide variety of topics, but the primary goal is to provide information that can help recruit and assist businesses that are interested in locating or expanding in Oregon City.

Businesses that provide well paying jobs are especially important in that they bring additional dollars to the community that can help support other business growth, provide needed goods and services to the citizens of Oregon City, and can provide additional tax dollars to support city services and schools.

Currently, the Economic Development program is coordinating two major development projects in the downtown area. The City is working with two different developers to turn vacant land, both on old landfill sites, into viable developments. If built, they would provide jobs, services and additional tax revenue to the City. The "Cove" project is currently planned to include a park, waterfront walkway, several apartments, condominiums and a restaurant with some office development. The "Rivers" project is in the planning stages, but could include a large number of retail businesses located on top of the Rossman landfill site.

Please visit the Rivers FAQ page for more information including a financial analysis.
