The Human Resources Department works with the City Manager, department directors and employees in areas of recruitment, classification, compensation, training, benefits, labor/employee relations and related human resource functions. Our goal is to attract, develop, and retain a diverse and productive workforce that provides quality services to the citizens of Oregon City.

Thank you for your interest in employment with the City of Oregon City.  Below is a list of guidelines for the application process

  • Read and complete required application materials as required by each positing on the Job Openings page.
  • Faxed applications are NOT accepted; all of the City's job recruitments are to be done on-line.
  • Allow 2 weeks from date of closing to hear from us regarding status of your application.  You will be notified of your status via mail or telephone.
  • There may be one or several interviews dependent upon the position applied for.
  • If you are chosen to fill a position your employment will be contingent upon passing a background check per City Ordinance 01-1031.  As a rule this form will be given to you only when you are a finalist except for Police positions.
  • You may be required to pass a pre-employment drug test dependent upon the position applied for.
  • You may be required to pass a pre-employment Functional Capacity Test dependent upon the position applied for.
