REQUIREMENTS SWIM INSTRUCTOR and LIFEGUARD:

  • Applicants must be comfortable in the water
  • Be proficient at basic swim skills such as: front crawl and back crawl
  • If applicant is comfortable in the water, TRAINING IS AVAILABLE
  • A basic swim test will be conducted after verbal interview
  • Pass a drug test and background check

JOB DUTIES SWIM INSTRUCTOR and LIFEGUARD:

Applicants will supervise and teach kids how to safely enjoy the water while teaching basic swimming skills. It is suggested that applicants know basic swim skills such as: front crawl and back crawl. 

EMPLOYER COMMENTS:

If Applicants are just interested in teaching swimming or lifeguarding, and have little to no experience, training is available.  Class sizes vary from 6-10 kids.  Pool is American Red Cross, but related certifications are accepted.  We service up to 9000 students a school year, ages varying from 6 to 13 years old.  Applicants must remember the work environment is located at a pool facility, approximately 2-3 hours of the time will be spent in the water teaching swim lessons, minimal cleaning duties.  Water temperature is approximately 86 degrees.

HOURS: 

Daytime hours (6:00 am to 12:00 pm) available Monday through Friday.  Additional hours available Wednesdays and Thursdays from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm for our adaptive swim programs.  Evening hours (3:00 pm to 9:30 pm) available Monday through Friday and Saturdays (10:00 am to 8:00 pm).
