There may be work in 6th Street between Jefferson and John Adams during the week of Feb 1-5, 2016 as contractors do some required water pipe work. This work may disrupt traffic and parking.
Tree Removal Notice 12/23/15: Trenching for required storm line construction weakened the tree root structure of a tree at the corner of John Adams and 7th St. The project arborist, in consultation with City staff, recommends removal of the tree for safety reasons. This is being carried out immediately to avoid potential hazards. The library expansion project will mitigate this loss by replacing the tree.
Starting Monday, November 2, 2015, fencing for the building project will expand to extend around the spray park. The spray park is turned off for the season. The new fencing area will not further impact parking or use of sidewalk but will make it easier for the contractors to access certain parts of the lot.
The City of Oregon City will add a two-story, 14,500 square foot addition to the back of the 102 year old Carnegie Library located in beautiful Carnegie Park at 606 John Adams Street in Oregon City. Planning for the project has been underway for over a year. Construction is scheduled to start in early August and take approximately 13 months. Phase 1 is the two story addition which will take about 9 months; Phase 2 will involve improvements to the Carnegie Library. The Library will remain open during construction.
