DONATIONS:

Because the library is currently in a very small facility, we ask that you take your donations directly to the Friends of the Library Used Bookstore, Secondhand Prose, at 502 Seventh Street in Oregon City. The Friends happily accept donations of books, videos, compact discs and books on tape. Money collected from their sales is used by the Friends for a variety of projects to improve library services.

Some things just don't sell, so here are some guidelines -

Secondhand Prose cannot accept:

• Reader's Digest Condensed books
• magazines
• computer books
• encyclopedias over 5 years old
• textbooks or medical books over 3 years old
• anything that is mildewed or has a strong odor

Favorite donations are:

• bestsellers that are still in demand
• newer non-fiction works on contemporary practical issues
• VHS and DVD movies in good condition
• paperback westerns and mysteries
• large print titles
• children's books
• music CDs 
• audiobooks

If you would like a receipt for tax purposes, ask for one at the time of donation. A value cannot be assigned to the items, but a notation of the number of items of each type will be made.
