Homebound Services

This volunteer staffed service is also part of the Circulation Department. The purpose of this program is to make library materials available to anyone in our service area who cannot use our facility due to health reasons. This includes those who are disabled, homebound, in care facilities, or have other health-related travel restrictions.

The individual registers for the service and completes a brief profile which indicates the their interests (fiction, mystery, westerns, etc.), their special needs (large print, books on cassette, etc.), and the number of items they want each month.

Once a month our volunteer homebound coordinator selects materials based on each profile, checks the items out, and packages them. Delivery volunteers, assigned to each homebound patron, pick up the materials for delivery to the home and collect the items to be returned.
