Computers and Wi-Fi in the Library:  The Oregon City Public Library offers free access to the Internet, word processing, and Wi-Fi. Printing cost per page:  B&W 10 cents, Color 25 cent.

Create the Best Resumes and Cover Letters

New York State Career Zone Resume and Cover Letter Makers: Fill in the blanks and create a simple resume or cover letter that can be displayed in HTML, PDF, or Microsoft Word, and printed or saved.

Microsoft Office resume templates: Free resume templates: basic, job specific, and situation-specific.

Oregon Career Information System:  Log in with your library card # and PIN. Click onto the Employment tab, then pick Job Search and then Applications and Resumes for tutorials for resumes and cover letters. Learn about different jobs and the school and training they require. It includes scholarship information and demand now and in the future for each career.

Library Databases

These can be used in the library or at home using your library card and PIN numbers. You must be a cardholder of Oregon City Public Library to use the Oregon Career Information System.

Learning Express Library: This resource includes more than 1,000 practice tests, including the GED, SAT and citizenship tests. It also includes tools to improve your job skills.

Oregon Career Information System: Learn about different jobs and the school and training they require. It includes scholarship information and demand now and in the future for each career.

Books and E-Books

Library2Go:  LINCC cardholders can download e-books, audiobooks, and videos. Topics include job interviews, resumes, and cover letters. Most can be transferred to other devices for use away from the computer. We are happy to assist you if you have difficulties!

Learning Express Library: Contains nearly 200 e-book career guides and test-taking preparation guides.

Occupational Outlook Handbook:  Information on more than 300 jobs including projected growth. Also available online at www.bls.gov/oco/

Knock ‘em Dead series by Martin Yate, including Knock ‘em Dead Resumes, Knock ‘em Dead Cover Letters and the Ultimate Job Search Guide.

The Oregon City Public Library has access to many books about job hunting, resumes, cover letters and job interviews.

Craigslist – Portland, Oregon:  Has local job postings in various categories.

Jibber Jobber: Job search manager that helps you keep track of applications, interviews, and networking contacts.
