Mayor Alice Norris Receives Darlene Hooley Citizen Award

Mayor Alice Norris honored as the first recipient of the Darlene Hooley Award

The Clackamas County Board of County Commissioners established the Darlene Hooley Citizen Award last September as a way to recognize and thank those citizens of Clackamas County for their dedication and leadership in making a difference in the community. The first recipient of the 2010 Darlene Hooley Citizen Award is the honorable Alice Norris, Mayor of Oregon City. Mayor Norris's involvement in civic and cultural affairs spans two decades. She served on the Oregon City School Board for seven years, was founding chair of the Willamette Falls Hospital Foundation, and executive director of the Oregon Trail Pageant. She served two terms on the board of the Regional Arts & Culture Council, including two years as chair. She is past chair of the Metropolitan Exposition-Recreation Commission and co-founded Oregon City's First City Festival in 1994. Since becoming Mayor in 2003, she has turned her energy to revitalizing Oregon City.
