Preserve America honors OC

Oregon City has been named a Preserve America Community by First Lady Michele Obama!  This prestigious designation has been applied to only five other cities in Oregon.

The program, initiated in 2003, is a national effort to increase the "positive economic, educational, environmental, and cultural benefits of preservation" to American communities. The White House notes that designation as a Preserve America community indicates a leadership commitment to the heritage, and support of the necessary infrastructure, to turn historic resources into economic assets. Congratulations Oregon City!
