Municipal Court Gavel

The Municipal Court is the judicial branch of the City of Oregon City government. It has jurisdiction over all city and state law offenses committed within city limits other than felonies. The court does not handle DUIIs.

This Court adopts the provisions of the Oregon Rules of Civil Procedure, Uniform Trial Court Rules Chapters 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6, and Clackamas County Supplementary Local Rules if applicable to municipal court proceedings, which is a court of limited jurisdiction and is not a court of record, and except as more particularly set forth in these Local Rules.

The Municipal Court can answer questions about the court schedule, minimum fine amounts, and other administrative matters, but they cannot give legal advice. If you need legal advice, you should consult an attorney. For help in finding one, call the Oregon State Bar's Lawyer Referral Service at (503) 684-3763 or 1 (800) 452-7636.

FINE SCHEDULE:

The Oregon Legislature sets maximum and minimum fines for all traffic tickets.  Several changes have been made for all tickets written after January 1, 2012.  The dollar amount on the front of each ticket is now called a "presumptive fine."  Because of these new laws, the Court has a new Violations Bureau and some new processes to help you resolve some of the tickets.

Presumptive fines for general violations:

$ 435 for Class A

$ 260 for Class B

$ 160 for Class C

$ 110 for Class D

 Highway work zones, school zones and safety corridors:

$ 870 for Class A

$ 520 for Class B

$ 320 for Class C

$ 220 for Class D
