408 Promenade Street

This 1-1/2 story house sits under a front gable roof, with a low pitch hip roof on the west façade over the entry porch. The porch hip is supported by plain wood columns that are replacements of the original columns. A small concrete stair and landing lead up to the main entry, and this porch is a replacement of the original porch. The house features shallow enclosed eaves above the wide frieze and rake boards, with decorative barge and rake moldings. The house has been clad with asbestos shingles above the foundation level, and features 6/6 double-hung wood sash windows at the first floor level. The gable ends feature large aluminum sash windows with a large fixed pane flanked by sliding sashes. All of the windows have plain board surrounds on three sides and narrow sills. A one story wing projects out to the east from the main body of the house, and features the same elements as the west portion of the house.
