Statement of Significance: Christ Bluhm, born in 1840 in Germany, worked as a day laborer. He and his wife Augusta, born in Germany in 1834, emigrated to the United States in 1878; their son, Christ Bluhm, Jr. was a steamboat mate in 1900, born in Canada in 1870, and a second son, Charles, born in 1883 in Canada, was a deliveryman. The sons lived with their parents in this house at the turn of the century. Bluhm became Oregon City sexton in 1903. Bluhm died in 1922. This house is significant for its age. Historically, it has significance for its association with Bluhm.
