Statement of Significance: Thomas West was a blacksmith. Probably graced with a view of the lower McLoughlin neighborhood, this house retains much of the feeling that is essential to its integrity. The siding and most exterior windows appear to be original. The chimney pot is of pleasing proportions. The reconstruction and stairs on the Polk Street facade appears to e in keeping with the house. Along the south property line are at least six very tall pine trees and three oaks shelter the house itself. The house is significant for its age.
