As a Planning Commissioner, you will vote on local land use decisions, such as zone changes, variances, annexations, and zoning code changes among others. These are important decisions that shape development and impact Oregon City and its residents.

The land use decisions made by the Planning Commission help shape the future of Oregon City. Planning Commissioners contribute to the community by making decisions that serve the public and can make Oregon City a better place for everyone.

As a member of the Planning Commission, you will have an opportunity to learn about the land use process, local government, and local and regional issues affecting Oregon City. Serving on the Planning Commission is also a great way to stay up to date with community concerns and adequately address them.

Serving on the Planning Commission provides you with an opportunity to meet many different people. From residents, to City staff, and developers and architects, you will interact with these groups of people on a regular basis and gain a deeper understanding of their roles and how they shape our community.
The Planning Commission (PC) meets regularly at 7:00 p.m. on the second and fourth Mondays of each month. The purpose of the Planning Commission is to serve as an advisory body to, and a resource for, the City Commission in land use matters.
