How Do I Identify the Front of My Property
Identification of the front of your property is helpful in determining your setbacks for development.

 

 

Square Lot:

The front lot line is the line abutting the street.

Flag Lot:

The front lot line is the shortest lot line adjoining the pole portion of the lot, excluding the unbuildable portion of the pole.

Corner Lots:

The front lot line is that with the narrowest frontage.

When the Lot Line Abutting a Street is Curved:

The front lot line is the chord or straight line connecting the ends of the curve.

 

Main Entrance

The main entrance for each structure must:

A. Face the street or

B. Be at an angle up to 45 degrees from the street or

C. Open onto a covered porch that is at least 60 square feet with a minimum depth of 5 feet on the front or, in the case of a corner lot, the side of the residence.
