The Planning Division is responsible for all long range and current planning as well as the implementation of the Oregon City Comprehensive Plan and associated Municipal Ordinances.
How Do I Know When I Need Review by the Planning Division for my Project?

In addition to reviewing commercial, industrial and multi-family buildings, the Planning Division will evaluate outdoor projects at your home to assure compliance with the safety and aesthetic requirements of the Oregon City Municipal Code.  Please contact the Planning Division at (503) 722-3789 to see if there are any restrictions for your project or if a permit is needed.

Though a permit is not necessarily required, the City has regulations for an assortment of home projects including:

  • Constructing a new home Additions Porch
  • Covered patio
  • Shed
  • Fence
  • Carport
  • Removal of a street tree
  • Removal of landscaping or paving on a steep, slope or near a stream
  • Other outdoor activities.
