The
Oregon City Police Department, in cooperation with the Oregon City School District
has re-implemented the School Resource Officer Program at the Oregon City High
School.
This
Officer has received special law enforcement training and will maintain a resident
office at the High School. The Oregon City Police Department is committed to
Community Oriented Policing and this is an opportunity for the department to
have direct interaction with school staff, students, parents and citizens in
our community. Our goal is to establish a safe environment for the learning
process and eliminate barriers between our youth and police.
Public
Safety and Law Enforcement is the primary responsibility of the SRO, with an
emphasis on prevention. The officer will be available on a daily basis to meet
with students, parents and staff. The School Resource Officer is a resource
to both school administration and the student body and works to create a safe
learning environment for each student.
