Everybody in the community should have access to the police department and we think the best way to accomplish this is through an open forum. This was the reason we started having our monthly Meet Your Police meetings. Our goal was to both educate people about what is happening in their community and to get public input in the problem-solving process.
Every month, we will continue to present on a different topic related to the work done by the Oregon City Police Department. We involve all members of our department in these presentations. Whether it is a presentation on drugs in the community, the K-9 program, or child safety; each meeting will educate our community on a different facet of public safety. After the presentation, we open up the meeting to an open dialogue for questions, complaints, or suggestions about any topic related to how we can better serve our customers in Oregon City.
Each meeting is scheduled to last for about an hour and everybody is always invited to attend. If you ever have any suggestions about a topic that you think would make an interesting and informative presentation, please email Lt. Jim Band at jband@orcity.org.
