Honor Guard

The Oregon City Police Department’s Honor Guard Unit was formed in 2006. The Honor Guard is the formal representative for the department at a variety of events throughout the Metro Area. The Honor Guard participates at funerals, flag presentations, ceremonies, graduations and other special events. Currently the Oregon City Honor Guard is made up of five members of the patrol unit and anticipates growing to a seven person team in the near future. The Honor Guard Unit coordinates with local police agencies that have Honor Guard members to enhance training or show a larger presence at a funeral of a fallen officer.

The Oregon City Honor Guard attends the annual Memorial Day event at Mt. View Cemetery in May; they honor the Clackamas County Reserve Academy Graduates in February and have attended funerals for fallen officers as far away as California and Washington. The Oregon City Honor Guard plans to attend the National Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington D.C. in the near future and take part in the National Memorial Services for fallen officers.

If you have questions regarding the Oregon City Honor Guard or would like to request our services for a memorial event please contact Sgt. Matthew Paschall at mpaschall@orcity.org
