Records Unit

Police Records Specialists are non-sworn personnel who are responsible for data entry, control, maintenance and retrieval of police reports. The records unit assists with citizen-inquiries both in person and on the telephone. The unit is comprised of three Police Records Specialists, a Records Manager and supervised by the Support Lieutenant.

In 2009, the records unit processed approximately 4300 case reports (includes: crime, custodies, field contact reports, person and vehicle) and 4830 traffic citations ( total charges).

Vehicle tow releases are available 24 hours/7 days a week – $150.00 cash or money order (credit cards are accepted only during normal business hours). NOTE: After business hours use the red phone located in the alcove area at the front of the building.

  • NOTE: if an investigation or court action of the case is in progress the report is not releasable until the case is closed /completed. Contact the Records Unit at 503-657-4964 during business hours to verify that the report you are requesting a copy of is available for release at this time.
  • If report is available complete the request form and mail it, along with a money order or certified check and self-addressed stamped envelope to: PO Box 3040, Oregon City, OR 97045; to pay by credit card or cash bring the complete form to our office during normal business hours.
