The design of the Beavercreek Road improvement
project (Fir Street to Beavercreek Way) began
in late summer 2004. In December of 2004, a public open
house
was
held
at City Hall to receive input from the public on the proposed
roadway design. In response to comments received, it was
determined that the best way to address and incorporate
citizen concerns was to prepare both a short-term and a
long-term access management plan for Beavercreek Road.
The City
and its design consultants worked with project stakeholders
to develop a plan that meets the needs of the business
and property owners along the corridor and improves the
function and safety of the corridor. On October 19, 2005,
the Beavercreek Road Access Management Plan was adopted
by the City Commission under Ordinance No. 05-1007.
The Short-Term Access Management Plan is
being implemented
and proposed for construction in 2007, whereas the Long-Term
Plan will be implemented as the corridor continues to develop
and/or redevelop. If you want to see what is proposed for
design, please take a look at the adopted Short-Term Access
Management Plan. Short-Term
