Downtown Circulation Study

The City of Oregon City and the non-profit Main Street Oregon City are continuing a downtown dialogue focused on downtown’s circulation system. Through a series of small group meetings with property owners, business owners and downtown stakeholders, the following short-list of goals has been prepared for the consultants working on this project for downtown.

Project goals include:

  • Explore the pros and cons of restoring two-way traffic to portions of downtown.
  • Improve access to downtown for alternate modes of transportation including bicycle and transit.
  • Identify specific recommendations for improving the pedestrian environment of the area.
  • Simplify circulation to improve desirability of the downtown as an activity/shopping destination.

In addition, stakeholders met on November 13 and at a public workshop held on December 1, 2009.  The PowerPoint presentation from this last meeting is available below in PDF format.
