Holcomb Blvd Bicycle & Pedestrian Enhancement Grant
City of Oregon City

The City, with enormous help from residents of the Park Place neighborhood, submitted a grant application (available below) seeking funds for pedestrian improvements on Holcomb Boulevard.  Specifically, the City is requesting funds to construct bike lanes, sidewalks, marked crossings, and lighting along Holcomb Boulevard between Longview Way and Winston Drive in order to provide connectivity in the neighborhood including access between Holcomb Elementary School and the neighborhoods both east and west of the school.

Fifty-three projects, requesting approximately $50 million, advanced to the public input portion of the process; this number was pared down from an initial total of 155 proposals. The total amount available for the program is approximately $8.5 million. Now that the public input portion of the process is over, two ODOT advisory committees will use this information to help determine which projects to recommend for formal approval by the Oregon Transportation Commission in March, 2013; funds will then be awarded beginning in July, 2013.
