END OF WORK IN SIGHT!

The Main Street contractor, Nutter Corp., spent this last week completing the completing final paving for the new utility trenches between 7th and 10th Streets. Next week Nutter is scheduled to complete the final phase of the grind and pave work on Main Street between 7th and 10th Streets.  The grinding work will begin on Monday evening after rush hour and continue through the night unitl the next morning.  Nutter will then spend a couple days preparing the surface to receive the new asphalt.  They have the paving scheduled for Thursday evening and will spend all night completing this work.   We are excited to be able to finish this work before the annual Antique Fair event on Sunday.

July 2, 2012:

Paving was completed last week on Main Street between 5th and 7th and on 7th Street, and striping was completed today. Sidewalks, lighting, water, sanitary sewer, and storm waterline work will continue between 8th and 10th for the remainder of July and first part of August. Paving and striping is scheduled to be complete on or before August 24th.

June 25, 2012:

The work in progressing very well and remaining on schedule.  Contractors have been working during the day and night to complete this project.  This week the contractor is scheduled to complete the first phase of the two phase grinding and paving work.  The work will include grinding and paving on Main Street from 5th Street to 7th Street and on 7th Street between Main Street and Railroad Ave.  Grinding will begin on Tuesday and final paving will be complete on Friday in this area of the project.
