The dual left turn lanes on Beavercreek Road eastbound are at capacity during peak travel times. This causes vehicles wanting to turn left onto Hwy 213 to block traffic in the through lanes on Beavercreek Road eastbound. This project will remove a portion of the landscaped median and extend the dual left turn lanes.  Specifically, the construction project includes:

  • Installation and removal of Temporary Traffic Control and Erosion Control Measures
  • Earthwork
  • Pavement removal by cold planing
  • Installation of an aggregate base and asphalt concrete wearing surface
  • Installation of permanent pavement markings
  • Installation of permanent sign supports and signs

Status Updates

July 25, 2016:  No bids were received for this work. At this time, the City and its consultant have decided it is in the City's best interest to postpone re-bidding the project until late winter/early spring 2017 when bids should be more favorable.

July 6, 2016:  The City rebid the project which included changes allowing contractors more opportunities for off-hour lane closures.  Bids are due July 21, 2016.

June 16, 2016:  The due date to receive bids resulted in the submission of only one bid which was substantially higher than the engineer's estimate.  Staff determined it was in the City's best interest to reject the bid and rebid the project with a few small modifications.
