About Us
The Oregon City Police Department (OCPD) is a professional law enforcement agency comprised of men and women dedicated to the safety of our valued community. Our team is made up of 47 sworn officers and 12.5 non-sworn support personnel between Police and Code Enforcement. We love what we do and work very hard to provide the best police service we can for the people who make up our City. We strive to achieve our core values of being good at what you do, delivering great customer service, and taking care of each other along the way.
Established in 1829, Oregon City was the first U.S. city west of the Rocky Mountains to become incorporated in 1844. A city rich in history, Oregon City, has a growing population of over 36,000 within the city limits. The county seat of Clackamas County, the city is located on the banks of the Willamette and Clackamas Rivers just South of the Portland metro area. Therefore, the area is home to many tourist attractions, museums, historical landmarks, and cultural and recreational opportunities. Each year thousands of locals and visitors attend multiple events, such as concerts and festivals.
Altogether, we are a department that takes pride in serving Oregon City and has found our greatest strength is our partnership with the community. Thank you for taking the time to visit this website. Please look around and see the different people and programs that make us work. We welcome your suggestions and critiques to help us provide accurate and helpful information.
