The Upper System Transmission Improvement Projects are a suite of projects that will enhance the transmission of water in the City’s upper water system. These are funded by the Water Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act (WIFIA).
UPDATE: Partial lane closures on Molalla Avenue on Tues., February 6th
Portions of Molalla Ave will be temporarily closed Tuesday, February 6th between 9am-3pm to conduct surveying activities related to the Molalla 24-inch Water Transmission Main – WIFI 3-1 Project (Project) which will enhance the City’s drinking water infrastructure. The planned lane closures are as follows:
North of Warner Milne Road, the northbound lane of Molalla Avenue will be closed.
South of Warner Milne Road, the left travel lane of northbound Molalla Avenue will be closed.
The closure will allow the City’s engineering consultants to locate buried concrete road panels (if any), an activity referred to as ground penetrating radar surveying. The surveying is required to prepare for Project construction starting in Fall 2024. This Project will provide needed infrastructure enhancements to meet current and future drinking water demands.
This Project is funded in part through a federal loan from the Water Infrastructure Innovation and Finance Act (WIFIA). Learn more about our WIFIA funding: https://www.orcity.org/1865/Water-Infrastructure-Finance-and-Innovat
