401 4th Street - Dudley and Grace Woodward House

This one story bungalow sits under a front gable roof on a parged foundation. A hip roofed porch runs nearly the full width of the south façade, supported by large square columns resting on a solid balustrade. This balustrade, like the rest of the house, is clad with horizontal drop siding finished with cornerboards. The gable features open eaves, wide barge boards, and knee brackets, all typical of the style. The windows are all 1/1 double-hung wood sash, some with wood framed screens attached. The windows typically appear in pairs throughout the house, surrounded by plain board trim on three sides and narrow sills with decorative apron moldings. A brick chimney is located in the northern portion of the house, and has been painted and has seen the top replaced with concrete.
