Oregon City Parks and Recreation is holding a public engagement event on May 6 as part of the ongoing process for developing the City's parks masterplan.

The public meeting will be held at the Pioneer Community Center at 6 pm on May 6. The meeting will also have a virtual option so residents can attend via Zoom.

The creation of the Parks Master Plan is an extensive process. It started in 2022 when residents were invited to share their thoughts via the Needs Assessment Survey. That survey gauged the public's sentiments regarding a myriad of facilities, services and programming offered by the department, and what their opinion was on where the primary focuses should lie. The results from the survey are available for review on the master plan website

The process also included numerous public meetings before City committees and other public groups. With a forecasted completion time of June of 2024, the end result should be a comprehensive document that addresses the City's facilities, programming, staffing, funding, landscape management and priority needs for the next 20 years.

Residents can learn more about the process on the website. To attend via Zoom, residents will need to register ahead of time here
