Building

The Oregon City Building Division believes that close collaboration with all builders - from a homeowner building a simple addition, to a commercial developer building a multi-story project - to provide guidance and Code education is the best way to produce safe, code-compliant structures that will last a lifetime (or longer!).

Community Development

Community Development is responsible for guiding growth and development within the city limits and includes the Planning and Building Divisions.

City Recorder

The Office of the City Recorder maintains the City Seal and serves as clerk of the City Commission by recording and archiving the official records, proceedings, and legislative history of the City of Oregon City.

Code Enforcement

Code Enforcement responds to citizen complaints as fast as possible by determining if a violation has occurred, alerting the responsible party that they are in violation, and enforcing compliance through the legal process.

Economic Development

Economic Development is a strategic and collaborative process that creates an environment that systemically supports new investment, creates and/or retains jobs, and broadens the tax base, therefore, improving the quality of life of people.

Finance

The Finance department provides financial statements and supporting schedules that are compliant with accounting principles generally accepted in the United States of America (GAAP) and meet the requirements of the standards as prescribed by the Secretary of State.

Human Resources

The Human Resources Department works with the City Manager, department directors, and employees in areas of recruitment, classification, compensation, training, benefits, labor/employee relations, and related human resource functions.

Mapping / GIS

Oregon City utilizes state-of-the-art Geographic Information System (GIS) technology to produce maps, keep our utility systems updated, and perform place-based analysis (transportation modeling, population forecasting etc).

Police

The Oregon City Police Department is a professional law enforcement agency comprised of men and women dedicated to the safety of our valued community. Our team is made up of 47 sworn officers and 12.5 non-sworn support personnel between Police and Code Enforcement.

Public Works

Operate and maintain existing public infrastructure; plan and construct capital improvements; and protect public health and safety, water quality, and natural resources to ensure the community is provided with safe, sustainable, and financially sound utility systems.
