[ARCHIVED] Celebrate Historic Preservation Month

May is dedicated to National Preservation Month. We use this month to celebrate our City’s heritage and culture. Organizations across the country promote a variety of activities on the local, state, and national levels.

Observe National Preservation Month in Oregon City:

Enter the Preserve our Past Art and Poetry Contest

Attend the Sarah Chase event hosted by Downtown Oregon City Association

The Oregon City Library is hosting a scale model of the McLoughlin House and you can play a round of "I Spy" to find a variety of objects in the house.

Join our virtual scavenger hunt.

Visit local museums and learn the history of your community and the Oregon territory.

Create your own self-guided walking tour of the City’s historic districts or historic cemeteries

Explore the history of a single building. What businesses took up shop over the years? How has it transformed? How has it been preserved?

Hashtag #NationalPreservationMonth to share on social media.

Whether you are interested in touring historical sites or helping to preserve the history in your backyard, there is something for everyone.
