2024 "If I Were Mayor..." Contest Winners

The winners of 2024 Oregon City's "If I Were Mayor..." contest were announced at the City Commission meeting on April 3, 2024.
Oregon City took part in the statewide contest held by the Oregon Mayor's Association. Local governments were invited to have children in their community participate in the contest, with winners at the local level then going on to compete at the state level. The contest was open to all students attending schools within the Oregon City School District, as well as kids enrolled in private, charter and home school.
Students in fourth and fifth grades created posters, middle schoolers in grades six through eight wrote essays, and high school students entered with a digital media presentation.
Oregon City received numerous entries that were judged by the Youth Advisory Commission, and the top entrants were recognized by Mayor Denyse McGriff and Youth Advisory Commission Chair Brianna Nizic during a presentation at the regular meeting of the City Commission.
