Guidelines For Political Signs

Yard signAs election season approaches, the Community Development department would like to remind folks about the number, type, and location of signs that may be displayed without a permit.

Signs at Your Home

Most homes can be posted with 2 signs, such as lawn signs or A-frame signs, each up to 6 square feet in size. Applications and fees are not required. 

Signs at Your Business 

A variety of signage options may be posted on commercial and industrial properties. Some signage types require permits while others do not. Most business properties can be posted with 2 signs, each up to 6 square feet in size, without a permit.

Prohibited Signs

  • Signs posted to public property or in a planter strip without a permit
  • attention flags, flutter flags etc are not permitted. wacky arm waving flying flailing inflatable tube men are not permitted.Attention flags (AKA feather flags, flutter flags)
  • Signs attached to fences
