If you received a permit to replace a street or public tree in the last year, the deadline to plant the required replacement tree(s) is fast approaching. Please plan to have your replacement street trees in the ground by April 30, 2025.
Choosing the right time to plant a tree is vital for its long-term health and success. It is particularly important to plant trees prior to the summer months, so roots can establish before the weather turns hot and dry. Oregon City’s tree replacement deadlines provide reasonable flexibility for property owners to plant the replacement trees at a time that is best for long-term tree survival.
In the coming weeks, Planning Staff will be conducting brief site visits to confirm that replacement street trees have been planted within the allotted timeframe. If you are required to replant a street tree and are not able to plant prior to 4/30/2025, please contact Planning at ocplanning@orcity.org and request an extension of your replanting deadline, or for any other questions related to street trees in Oregon City.
