GEORGE CLARK RESIDENCE c.1867 -- Statement of Significance: George Clark, the house's original owner, was an English immigrant who was a painter. As one of the few remaining residences in the downtown area, this house is threatened by encroaching commercial uses. In addition, this house is significant because of its age, making it one of the oldest structures in the neighborhood, and certainly the oldest house in the immediate vicinity. It is relatively unaltered, exceptions being the southwest wing and porch alterations.
