Call For Artists 6X6 Art Show
Artist Registration is now Full!
The Oregon City Art Commission is excited to present the 6×6 ART SHOW, which takes place June 14, 2025 from 6 - 9 p.m. at the Arc Light Event Center on 704 7th Street in Oregon City.
Artists of all ages and abilities are invited to participate by creating original works of art in a variety of mediums on a 6×6” panel. Registration for participating artists is from April 7 – May 15th but artwork must be completed and returned by June 1.
The Oregon City Art Commission will supply panels for your work. Instructions for where to pick up your panels are included in the Guidelines below. All artwork will be priced at $50 and split 50/50 with the Artist if the piece sells – but you are more than welcome to donate since all remaining proceeds will be donated to Youth Programs and Scholarships for the Arts.
You can link below to Artists’ Guidelines, Participation Rules, and the Application form. Please read the guidelines before applying. By applying, you agree to the Guidelines and Participation Rules.
Artists’ Guidelines
Everyone is welcome!
The subject matter and medium is up to you. All ages and styles are accepted. You can use any medium – paints, markers, clay, photography, mixed media, etc. The only limit is size. Each piece must be maximum 6x6 inches, or 6x6x6 inches for 3-D entries weighing no more than 5 pounds. Artists will be given 6x6 panels at no cost. Only these panels will be accepted.
All work must be for sale. You may submit up to 5 pieces. Artists will receive a check for 50% of the sale price for sold work. All pieces must be your original work. No wet paintings accepted. All artists should be local. We cannot accept shipped art or ship it back.
Online Registration is required. Registration is open through May 15, 2025, but art must be completed and returned on or before June 1st. Please fill out the form completely. This will enable us to track your pieces and pay you if your piece sells!
Pick Up Panels. We will supply the 6x6 panels. The panels are MDF boards, which are easy to create on. We recommend you prime your boards first with either gesso or a coat of paint before you start. They have indentations on the backs for hanging. So, no need to include apparatus for hanging – we will take care of that for you. You can pick up your panels at the following places and times:
- Sunday, April 13th from 10am-2:30pm at the Oregon City Library, 606 John Adams St, Oregon City in the first floor Community Center room.
- Thursday, April 17th from 4-7pm at Oregon City Hall, 625 Center Street, Oregon City
- Saturday, April 19th from 10am-3pm at the Oregon City Library, 606 John Adams St., Oregon City in the 2nd floor Conference room.
Requirements for completion. Please include your name and the title of the piece on the back and DO NOT remove the number on the back. This is how we will track your piece and payment if it sells.
Drop off entries. Please deliver your entries on or before June 1, 2025 at either:
The Oregon City Library, 606 John Adams St., Oregon City
Oregon City Hall, 625 Center St., Oregon City
Reception and opening. The Art Show Gala will take place at the Arc Light Event space located at 704 7th Street in Oregon City. The event begins June 14th at 6:00pm and ends at 9pm. Admission is free of charge and is family friendly. Refreshments and music entertainment are included. A cash bar is available.
We are excited to see what you create!

6 X 6 ART SHOW Participation Rules
The Oregon City Arts Commission has my permission to use, publish and reproduce for advertising, public relations and any other lawful purpose, images of and information about my artwork, with or without my name. I understand that I must register for my submission, and by registering I agree to the Artists’ Guidelines and Participation Rules. I further understand that there are no restrictions on subject matter or mediums, but I agree to follow the guidelines so my work of art can be included in the 6 x 6 PROJECT. I will deliver the completed panels on or before June 1, 2025, to the Oregon City Library or the Oregon City Hall during business hours.
Submission Guidelines
- All artwork must be ORIGINAL work of the artist and be created on a 6” x 6” panel obtained from the Oregon City Arts Commission. No other art pieces will be accepted. Up to five (5) panels can be submitted per artist. OCAC reserves the right to reject any artwork it deems inappropriate or that does not follow guidelines.
- Art can be mounted to the front of canvas, but no part can be outside the perimeter (i.e., hanging off edge, glued/attached to the sides). All mediums are allowed (i.e., any kind of paint, ink, photography, pencil, mixed media, clay, etc.). DO NOT cover up the number on the back of the panel. This is how we will track your pieces if they sell.
- Artwork should be no more than 5 pounds. All panels will be exhibited in square format, not as a diamond (diagonally). Please mark “top” or “bottom” on back of canvas so artwork can be hung correctly if it’s not obvious. NO hangers on back of canvas please. There are indentations already on the back, and we will take care of the hanging for you.
- Mediums that could smear (i.e., charcoal, pastels, etc.), MUST have artwork sealed prior to submission. NO LOOSE GLITTER (glitter in paint is acceptable). If using oils, please make sure your pieces are completely dry before submitting. Use a good adhesive if attaching items to the panel in any way. We are not responsible for any damage that may happen if these recommendations are not followed.
- Sign your work, either on the back of the panel or on the front. Include a title for the piece and the medium use – i.e. oil, acrylic, ceramic, fabric, mixed media.
- If you are unable to complete your panel, please contact us before the deadline or return the panel to the Oregon City Library or Oregon City Hall.
- IMPORTANT! Please add trieste.andrews@gmail.com to your email contacts as updates via email and other important information will be sent periodically.
- We encourage you to let family and friends know you’re participating so they can purchase your art. Any art may be used in the venue or elsewhere. Please direct any questions to Trieste Andrews.
