Mayor & City Commission

City Commission for the City Of Oregon City

About the City Commission

The City Commission is composed of a mayor and four Commissioners elected from the City at large for terms of four years each, and for no more than two terms in any ten-year period. A Commission President is elected by the Commission at the beginning of each year to perform the duties of Mayor in the absence of that officer.

Citizen Comments

Citizens are welcome to present information or raise issues relevant to the City during the "Citizen Comments" portion of the City Commission agenda, if their issue is not related to an item on the agenda. Citizens are allowed up to 3 minutes to speak, and are asked to complete a comment form prior to the meeting and present it to the City Recorder. The Commission generally does not dialog with the citizen, but may direct staff to address the issue. See guidelines for speaking before the City Commission (PDF).
