GEORGE AND STELLA RAKEL RESIDENCE c.1917 -- Statement of Significance: George Rakel was a barber in Canemah in 1916, and in some way related to Frederick Rakel (609 S. McLoughlin Blvd.). The Rakels built this house after selling their house at 210 Hedges Street in Canemah. This compact and symmetric bungalow is one of the better examples of its style in Canemah, and one of the few of those with similar roof forms in Oregon City. It has some importance because of its relation to the Rakel family.
