GEORGE DRAPER HOUSE c.1886 -- Statement of Significance: George Byron Draper was born in New York in 1823, and served as a school teacher in Canemah. His wife, Frances Martha Moore, was born in Tennessee in 1859. They had a large family, including sons Charles, Thomas, Harry (of Huntley-Draper Drug Store fame), John, and two daughters, Martha (Matty) and Louise. This house was one of a number of properties originally owned by George Draper. Draper ran a private school in Canemah. The house is significant for its age and its association with the Draper family.
