English Ivy is an aggressive invasive species that has the power to completely engulf a tree with it's creeping vines. Once English Ivy has invaded, its rapid growth blocks sunlight from it's hosts foliage and prevents growth of the tree, slowly killing it over time. The weight from the English ivy can also become heavy over time, making the tree more susceptible to blowing limbs down in storms and endangering nearby structures and the public.
