LESLIE O. EATON RESIDENCE c.1928 -- Statement of Significance: Leslie Eaton was a millman for an Oregon City mill and a high-ranking member of the Masonic Lodge. His wife, Lois, conducted services and Sunday school for 11 years in the Canemah Church (Baptist). This house replaced an older, earlier house that burned in the 1920s. Leslie Eaton owned the property (see 615 S. McLoughlin Blvd.) but his son, Clarence, may have actually built the house, since Leslie died in 1929. Clarence was an Oregon City lawyer. The house is a typical inexpensive cottage of the late 1920s of no particular significance. In the Canemah NR District, it is classified as a Compatible structure.
