919 5th Street

This 1-1/2 story house sits under a front gable roof with a small gable projecting out from the south side over the main entry to the house. This gable is supported by a pair of scroll cut brackets, and a new steel railing encircles the small porch. The main gable features enclosed eaves with decorative frieze and rake moldings above the asbestos ceramic shingle siding that covers the main body of the house. The windows are all double-hung wood sashes with divided upper lights and narrow trim moldings. A one story addition has been made to the north side of the house, clad with plywood and featuring a recessed porch on the east side where the eave is supported by decorative steel posts. There is a one-car garage to the north of the house on Monroe Street.

This property is located within the McLoughlin Conservation District but is not a locally designated historic site. Contact ocplanning@orcity.org for more information.
