A.F. STOKES HOUSE c.1907 -- Statement of Significance: A.F. Stokes owned a grocery store on the northwest corner of this block, and in the early part of the century owned most of the block. The Stokes family may have lived in this house, or he may have rented it. The house is an unusual one for the neighborhood, because of its hipped roof, and its style is unusual for its apparent age.
